So, what is this RESPECT thing?

How does one obtain respect? Many say that respect comes with age, but I do not agree. Anyone can age, so why does this make one worthy of respect? You can be old, bitter and ignorant, so why should you be respected?

For me, respect is something that you earn, and not something that you are simply intitled to. If you work to help others, live a decent life where you do not go out of your way to hurt others and inspire people to do better, that is respect.

So when you have someone in your family totally shatter your life, because they can, how does that equate respect? When someone tells you that they are bringing other people into the house that means you fear for your health, safety, relationship, property and sanity, and you are just going to have to "deal with it", is that an instant that is worthy of respect? Especially when you remain civil, and your grandfather is screaming at you and looks like a rabid gorilla, how is that supposed to instill respect?

Anyone can grow old, but if you live your life as a hypocrite and can't even know where your place is and how to live in this world, you do not DESERVE to be respected. Respect means having a sense of pride for the accomplishments that someone you know has done, not being embarrassed to have them in your family.

Here I am again! Or for the first time!

So here I am again, after being gone for SUCH a long time again. I figure that since we are 78.3% settled and I have everything set up for it, I need to go back to blogging. Since too many people are on my Facebook, I decided that this was the best way to do it.

So I find myself 2 months into my new job, and I am not hating it yet! (Well, I hate one of the guys that I work with, and you never REALLY like your bosses, lol). Things are going REALLY good, and it even looks like I will eventually be getting the opportunity to move into Vitamins and Supplimets!!!! I am making decent money, and just got moved to full time (which meant more money!) I am choosing to believe that this is the last job that I will ever have to look for, since there are SO MANY areas to move into, and I can readilly see myself doing that!!

As some of you know, we did get a dog about a month back. He is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and we named him Houdini, but I prefer Houdi. He is good for the most part, but lately he has started chewing, and it is NOT making me happy. He actually has been chewing on chair legs and the pedistal of the dining table. But thankfully for my sanity, Matt and Houdi start training classes tomorrow!!!

Hello all again!

So, we all got raises at work this week.

The company doesn't do "cost of living" raises, since legally if the standard of living goes down, it gets taken away. But they survey other logistics companies around the Cheyenne and N Colo area and then adjust accordingly. So we went up 45 cents an hour!!!! Yay!!!

So now I make EVEN MORE money!!!

Besides that, I FINALLY went to the Cheyenne Public Library, and I was VERY surprised! I SERIOUSLY underestimated it!!! Yay books!!!

It is just weird!

So, there is a phenomenon that I have been encountering since I have moved up to Wyoming, and it is only happening at work, and I think that it is REALLY weird, and kinda gay actually.

The Fist Bump

Whenever something good happens, you engage in the fist bump.

"Hey! We pulled 140 cases an hour" -fist bump
"Hey! You pulled 160% productivity!" -fist bump
"Hey! We got out an hour early" -fist bump
"Hey! We shipped 7 cases of totally useless and moldy tomatoes to a store tonight!" -fist bump
"Hey! Way to get your diarrhea to stop!" -fist bump

I know that it is totally a product of a society where you cannot touch anyone since it looks like sexual harassment if you actually shake someone's hand, and I guess in retrospect it is cooler then the "high 5" but it is still weird.
